What is One-on- One Counseling?

 

One-on- one counseling is also called individual counseling because it occurs between a patient and a therapist. In a single session, they will have a private, one-on- one conversation concerning the patient's mental health issues such as past trauma. Unlike group counseling, a client is only permitted to speak with one person in the office.

People who are diagnosed with mental disorders are often encouraged to attend one-on- one counseling to cope with social expectations, behavior problems, environmental triggers, addictions, extreme stress, and personal loss.
